PERSONALITY: First and foremost, Dick Grayson is driven to help others and is good natured. He genuinely cares about people and wields the strong resolve necessary to find and do what’s right. He has a soft spot for strays, especially those with special abilities who may not have the means to learn how to control them, hence his team, the Titans. He’s stronger surrounded with people he cares about and weaker when left to his own loneliness and wants to believe in the best in people.

His logical reasoning makes him a skilled strategist and detective, paired with intelligence often used to come up with plans and to synthesize information. However humble about his abilities, his confidence translates into direct and straightforward speech, sometimes tactless with his bluntness.

Despite his best intentions, Dick is stubborn about his beliefs and tends to push them onto other people. This comes hand-in-hand with his desire to constantly be in control of the situation. He does his best to remove factors he might not be in control of, including others’ opinions or teammates who want to help. He believes this is a way for him to protect those he cares about, despite the likeliness of this tendency manifesting in a lack of trust, and hesitation when it comes to opening up to others.

Because of this, Dick sometimes stubbornly flies solo, believing that he knows best and that his plan will work out, hesitating to rely on others for help, despite his readiness to give it. He’s private and holds things close, taking on the burden of carrying problems and trying to solve them all himself. His own high expectations and those he thinks others hold him to, such as Bruce Wayne, are a constant source of pressure and he will do what he has to in order to get to the bottom of something. This includes using the gray areas of his abilities, such as his detective badge, or not telling the complete truth if he’s afraid of those he cares about leaving him for it.

Dick’s high expectations applies to others, as well, as he’s intolerant of laziness and carelessness. His strong beliefs in what’s right and wrong can translate to a short fuse, especially when he has a lot on his plate. Dick holds it steady until he’s desperate, which is when he becomes violent, ruthless, and brutal like he had been as Robin at Batman’s side, a side of himself that he hates and constantly struggles with.


WEAKNESSES/TEMPTATIONS:

Control: Dick’s desire to be in control of a situation means he’ll go to great lengths and cross boundaries in order to get where he needs to be. Having learned from Batman’s cold and vengeful ways, when desperate, Dick can slip into a dark place where he manipulates others and uses them for what he believes needs to be done.

Protecting his family & friends: Dick cares a lot about his family and friends, his team included. He can become vengeful if they come in harm’s way.

Blind spots: He wants to believe in the best in people. Couple with his stubbornness, this can result in blind spots that later come back to get him.

Violence: BIG temptation and weakness here, Dick becomes mercilessly violent, ruthlessly so if he’s angry or overwhelmed or desperate. The vengeful and hateful streak in him drives him to throw more punches than necessary, to fight harder than necessary and to turn to his fists when he snaps. Though he’s working hard to let go of this side of himself, which he believes Batman encouraged. Dick’s attracted to dangerous women. And redheads.

POWERS/ABILITIES:
-Skilled combatant, trained by Batman, multi martial artist
-Intelligence, determination, make him a sharp detective and investigator
-Extremely strong mental willpower, can resist psychoactive drugs, possibly mind control through sheer force of will.
