[ the sneaking around is mostly for show, to distract from the real surprise he has hidden in a hand behind his back.

he tiptoes over to Barbara at her desk, quietly rounding the back of her chair. with a mirthful smile, he slides into her periphery. ]

[She turns toward him, acting surprised.]

Oh no, someone has broken into my house. What shall I do?

[There's a laugh before she's standing to wrap her arms around him.]

[ he chuckles warmly, smiling as she wraps him in an embrace. one of his arms wrap around her waist as he tips toward her to kiss her lips. ]

Hi, beautiful.

[ then, he steps back and holds out a bouquet of orange and blue flowers, tied together with a satin blue ribbon. ]

[Its hard to say what she enjoys most: the kiss, his laugh, or the flowers. They’re all wonderful for different reasons.

She gives him another quick kiss before taking the flowers.]

They’re beautiful. And you know I can’t have my favorite man running around with less than perfect equipment.

[There’s a vase or glass somewhere in the kitchen that she can put the flowers, so she moves that way to find it.]

Perfect equipment and a drink? [ he means sideways against the counter, a playful tip to his head as he watches her look for a vase. ]
