Bruce’s suggestion had been a blessing. it’d been something for him to hide behind. but here, he can’t hide. he presses in and closes the distance between them, kissing Jason, soft and gentle, conscious of the healing split, until he’s pivoting to push away from the guard and face Jason instead. both hands find the guard on either side of Jason’s hips. ]

I‘m glad you’re coming with me. [ he murmurs the words against Jason’s lips, pulling flush against him. ]

[ it's not often that Jason's the one reassuring someone. he's shit at it, or he thinks he is, anyways. but when Dick smiles and the look in his eyes softens, he thinks maybe he's not completely terrible. ]

That's what I wanna hear. That makes this okay.

[he wants Dick to want him there. he wants Dick to be happy about it. he hasn't really been sure all this time, but hearing Dick say it now, even if he's drunk, it helps.

his own small smile grows when Dick moves closer, getting into his space, kissing him with all those emotions. his own hands slide to Dick's sides, encouraging him to settle even closer.]

[ Jason welcomes him closer and Dick easily obliges, back to the city, front pressing against Jason.

Jason’s eyes are dark like this, but sparkling with all the lights. Dick’s smile reaches all the way to his eyes. ]

Then let’s both try. It might every day that we find something worth fighting for, but holding on—that’s a different story.

[ a tiny voice in his head warns him, reminding him of what happened the last time he over promised. Jason deserves more than this, it tells him, but the selfish part of him simply presses closer, holding Jason’s glimmering gaze steady and warm. ]

[Dick might think that Jason deserves more than this, but what more is there? he's good with this. he wants this. he wants Dick and just like he does with everything else, he falls fast and hard.

when Dick's smile lights up his eyes, Jason knows he's completely in.]
